Naamkaran Sanskar is the sacred ceremony of naming a newborn child. This is typically performed on the 10th, 11th, or 12th day after birth, or on a convenient auspicious day thereafter. The ceremony introduces the child to the world with a meaningful Vedic name and invokes divine blessings for a long, healthy, and virtuous life.
नामकरण संस्कार नवजात शिशु के नाम रखने की पवित्र विधि है। यह सामान्यतः जन्म के 10वें, 11वें या 12वें दिन या उसके बाद किसी सुविधाजनक शुभ दिन पर किया जाता है। इस समारोह में बच्चे को एक अर्थपूर्ण वैदिक नाम के साथ संसार में प्रस्तुत किया जाता है।
Understanding this Vedic Ceremony
In Arya Samaj tradition, Naamkaran is performed with a small havan. The father or a family elder whispers the chosen name into the child's right ear after the Vedic mantras are completed. The name is selected based on the child's birth star (nakshatra) or family tradition, or simply a meaningful Sanskrit-based name. The ceremony ends with blessings and prasad distribution.
आर्य समाज परंपरा में नामकरण एक छोटे हवन के साथ किया जाता है। वैदिक मंत्रों के बाद पिता या परिवार का कोई बुजुर्ग बच्चे के दाहिने कान में चुना हुआ नाम फुसफुसाता है। नाम नक्षत्र के आधार पर या सार्थक संस्कृत नाम के रूप में चुना जाता है।
