Arya Samaj Philosophy Followed at Punjabi Bagh
Arya Samaj was founded by Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati in 1875 as a return to the teachings of the Vedas. The movement stripped away superstition and ritual excess and put education, social reform and simple living at the centre of religious life. - The gathering space is purified with incense and chanting.
- The pandit leads Vedic recitation, with attendees repeating the mantras.
- A pravachan follows, taking up a Vedic theme or a question of practical living.
- Then comes the samuh havan, where everyone present offers ahuti into the sacred fire. That participation is the point of a community havan: the offering is made by the family, not for the family.
- The session closes with prasad distribution.
Festivals and special occasions are observed through the year alongside the weekly schedule, with havan and satsang arranged as each occasion calls for.
